Mikhail Kozakov was a renowned actor and director with multiple accolades and 100+ titles under his belt. He lived for his craft, consistently choosing to take part in projects that moved culture forward, regardless of commercial success. His accomplishments and dedication to his career touched millions of homes and hearts.

As for me? I was lucky to call MMK my dad, and when he died of cancer in 2011, my family experienced tremendous loss and grief. I know that what he was most proud of, and one of the many things I am thankful for, is the impactful creative legacy he has left behind. In 2021, ten years later, I launched the Kozakov Foundation, a certified 501(c)3 nonprofit, to carry on that legacy by enabling a creative career path for others.
While I didn't pursue a career in the arts or in theatre, seeing my parents take chances on themselves creatively and professionally are the very principles that paved my path. Along the way, I realized the impact that gaining financial literacy had, whether it was the empowerment to say "no" to jobs that held me back or the ability to make philanthropy a central pillar of my journey.

My goal for this endeavor is to give creatives the agency to do the same. I hope you will join me.

With gratitude,
Zoia M. Kozakov (aka ZMK)
